GhettoPhysics

Will the Real Pimps and Ho’s Please Stand Up?

If you had any doubts as to the holistic nature of our universe, this new film is a great reminder of how interconnected we all are. The same group that brought us the groundbreaking What the Bleep is now exploring the role of quantum physics in the arena of power. Okay, they aren’t really calling it that, but the film examines the use and abuse of power, and how it affects and connects our lives, and as with any other aspect of quantum physics, every energetic action ripples out to the whole. Using what we now know is co-director William Arntz classic style—incorporating documentary footage, satire, dramatization and animation—GhettoPhysics presents a number of archetypes and suggests there is a opportunity for major transformation if we can just learn how to work with them. Whether we’re talking about power between two people, among countries, in business or wherever, as with all things, the first step is recognizing the challenge in all its complexity and simplicity. Such notables as activist Cornel West, author John Perkins (Confessions of an Economic Hit Man) and rapper Ice T also share their widely divergent perspectives. Opens in LA 10/22 at The Rave Theatre (formerly The Bridge).
